Ceramic and Pottery training at Skill Development Workshop

Design Innovation Centre (DIC) at the Department of Design, Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad organized and hosted an 11-day Skill Development Workshop (15th Mar 2022 – 25th Mar 2022) in collaboration with Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC). This workshop included Ceramic and Pottery training that was attended by 25 participants among the students, faculty and staff at IIT Hyderabad. It was conducted by an eminent sculptor and artist, Ms. Jagruti Dutta. This platform provided hands-on experience in material handling, along with technical knowledge of glazing and baking processes. Through demonstration and practical application, participants engaged in exploring and creating artifacts. Such an opportunity enables skill development and sensitization towards the indigenous processes and knowledge of Indian handicrafts. Being a part of this workshop allowed cross-disciplinary interaction amongst its participants as well.
