Winners of the ‘D’Source-DIC, BHU SDGs Design Challenge (DDSDC)’ by IIT Bombay. The winning entries are made available for download and use as part of the Open Design initiative. The interactive infographic depicts the heartbreaking hunger crisis that has continued to not only prevail but worsen in India despite the country’s rapid economic and fiscal development. The infographic primarily highlights the ironic situation of callous food wastage and crippling hunger – a dichotomy that is representative of the steep income inequality between demographics in India. Secondarily, it throws light on how the COVID-19 pandemic worsened food insecurity among vulnerable populations.
